Building upon the solid foundation laid in the Missionary Formation Conference and Institute, Advanced Preaching I is a sacred deepening of the preacher’s vocation. This intensive formation experience is designed for those who seek to proclaim the Gospel not only with eloquence, but with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Participants will be led into:
Refined preaching techniques rooted in Scripture and Tradition.
A deeper integration of theological insight and personal prayer.
A renewed awareness of the preacher’s sacred responsibility to speak as a vessel of Christ’s truth and mercy.
This course is not merely about technique—it is a spiritual formation that shapes the heart of the missionary disciple, so that every word preached may echo the voice of the Good Shepherd.

Proclaiming the Word with Power and Grace:
This course is a sacred continuation of the Missionary Formation journey, designed for those called to deepen their vocation as heralds of the Gospel. Advanced Preaching I equips participants to engage diverse audiences with clarity, compassion, and conviction—drawing from the rich treasury of Catholic tradition and the living Word of God.
Participants will be formed in:
Adapting preaching styles to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of varied communities.
Crafting homilies and talks that are both theologically sound and pastorally effective.
Engaging hearts and minds through dynamic delivery and authentic witness.
A highlight of the course includes master classes led by renowned Catholic preachers, including the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, offering profound encounters with:
Liturgical prayer and Eucharistic adoration.
Sacramental life and spiritual direction.
The art of preaching as a ministry of healing and hope.
Participants will learn to adapt various preaching styles to engage diverse audiences effectively. The course emphasizes sermon preparation and audience engagement strategies, ensuring preachers deliver impactful messages. Additionally, master classes led by renowned preachers, including the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, provide profound experiences in prayer, sacraments, and spiritual direction.
To enroll, participants must have attended the Missionary Formation Week and Missionary Formation Conference; however, recommendations from host dioceses may allow exceptions. The program aims to host an annual conference from years 2 through 5, with a capacity of 40-50 participants per year, ultimately benefiting 190 individuals by 2028.
